Phone Links

A phone link opens the water meter logger without a login screen — you just tap an icon. The link contains a long secret key, so treat it like a password: anyone who has the link can log readings as that person. Only ever open it on the phone it was made for, and revoke it here immediately if that phone is lost.

The logger can do one thing only: add a water meter reading. It cannot read the register, change anything, or reach any other part of the system. If a link leaks, the worst anyone can do is add junk readings — and you delete those from the register.
